Art and Soul: A Photo Gallery
By Virginia Cueto
Summer 2008
"It's hard to stereotype when it comes to Latino art,” says Tony Bechara, an artist in New York City. That's not surprising. Spanish and Latin American art springs from many different regions and historical periods, incorporating—and refashioning—indigenous forms as well as European, African, Greek, and a host of other influences. From the work of Old Masters to contemporary artists, the creative process is unique to each artist—as our photo gallery illustrates.
